What does REVOPIC’s facial recognition for photo search involve?
REVOPIC is an online platform that allows participants of public events to search for images in which they appear. The search is conducted using a facial photograph from which biometric data is collected. Technically, REVOPIC is a highly accurate application that enables analysis, comparison, and search of faces in images taken at sports events and stored on our servers.
To access and use our platform, the user must follow this procedure:
Organizer/Photographer Process:
• The user must register at the web app: https://app.revopic.com
• They can create events with basic identifying information. Upon creation, an Event Code will be generated for participants.
• From the same platform, they will have access to upload photos.
Participant Process:
The user must register via the mobile app available in the App Store and Google Play, linked at https://revopic.com/, entering their name and email address. They will then receive an email with instructions to access the platform.
• To perform the search, users must have the EVENT CODE previously provided by the event organizer.
• Upon accessing the platform, the user will be asked to provide the following information:
• Name
• Event code to access the event
• The user must take a selfie through our app.
• Finally, the user will receive all the photos in which they appear during the event corresponding to the Event Code.
We do not retain user data unless explicit consent has been given to receive information about future events.
The event images are kept for a limited time and are not shared with third parties. The identification of images is not nominal nor labeled as a result of the search. Once the validity period of the PINCODE expires, the images will be deleted from REVOPIC’s servers.
Principles We Apply to Your Personal Information
In processing your personal data, we apply the following principles, in accordance with the requirements of the new European data protection regulation:
• Lawfulness, fairness, and transparency principle: We will always require your consent for the processing of your personal data for one or more specific purposes, which we will inform you of in advance with full transparency.
• Data minimization principle: We will only request the data that is strictly necessary in relation to the purposes for which we need them — the minimum required.
• Storage limitation principle: Data will be kept no longer than necessary for the purposes of the processing. Depending on the purpose, we will inform you of the corresponding retention period. In the case of subscriptions, we will periodically review our lists and delete those records that have been inactive for a considerable amount of time.

In the latter case, data will only be shared with the third party when REVOPIC has the user’s express consent.
REVOPIC also acts as a data processor when its contractual relationship with a third-party data controller involves using the platform as a repository for photos and images from sports events organized by that third party, who is properly registered on the REVOPIC platform. In such cases, your contact details may be shared in order to keep you informed about other sports activities of interest to you.

Current data protection legislation grants data subjects a series of rights concerning the processing of their personal data, as long as their data is being processed by REVOPIC.
